GTA V: Grand Theft Auto 5 is classic GTA and then some

After Rockstar Games trailed the, er, trailer for Grand Theft Auto cheap nfl jerseys V last week, significant swathes of the internet have spent the past seven days speculating on where the next installment of the seminal series would be set. Vice City? Chicago? Chipping Sodbury?

Well now we know. Sort of.

The 84 second clip, released today, is clearly set on the West Coast of the USA but debate is currently raging on a gaming site near you as to whether it's limited to Vinewood, the GTA universe's take on Hollywood, whose iconic sign is glimpsed towards the end, Los Santos (the equivalent of Los Angeles) or whether it encompasses the entire San Andreas area first seen in the PlayStation 2 game of the same name.

Those fanboys not arguing about the location are probably still picking their jaws up off the floor. GTA V's graphics are stunning. From the opening shot of the sun setting over the Pacific coast to the various shots of graffitied ghettos, flash financial districts andcheap jerseys from china blinging Beverly Hills-style mansions, everything is rendered with a fidelity that far outstrips that of GTA IV.

The nameless narrator sounds like a typical GTA fish out of water who has pitched up in a new city looking for salvation only to fall in with the wrong crowd. In other words, it's classic GTA and then some. Inevitably, the trailer poses many more questions than it answers but perhaps we won't have to wait too long to find out more. It can't be coincidence that it was announced last week on the day that Battlefield 3 went on sale kegogoin the States, and premiered today just as Uncharted 3 hits the shelves.

Next Tuesday marks the arrival of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, not just set to be the biggest game of the holiday season, but quite possibly of all time as well. Don't bet against Rockstar attempting to steal that game's considerable thunder too.
